Angel Wing Pattern #4 for Costumes

To make Angel Wings:

1. Print this page.
2. Determine the size in inches that you want the wings to be from top to bottom as shown in the below diagram with a tape measure.
3. Divide the size by 8. This will be the size in inches of each grid square.
4. Mark the grid intersections on the underside of your cloth. Each intersection should be spaced by the amount determined in step 3.
5. Connect the grid dots with a yardstick, and draw the wing shape onto your grid.
6. Cut 4 pieces, 2 fronts and 2 backs.
7. Cut 2 pieces of 1/4" fabric or craft foam, 1/2" smaller.
8. Lay out front pieces.
9. Place foam on top.
10. Mold 19 gauge wire around edges.
11. Lay back pieces on top.
12. Sew edges all around.
13. Sew 2nd row inside wire.
14. Add 1/2" wide elastic for shoulder straps.

As an example, if you want your wings to measure 12 inches then 12/8 = 1.5 so the grid lines should be 1.5 " apart.
