Angel Wing Pattern #4 for
Costumes
To make Angel Wings:
-
Print this page.
-
Determine the size in inches that you want the wings to be from top to bottom as shown in the below diagram with a tape measure.
-
Divide the size by 8. This will be the size in inches
of each grid square.
-
Mark the grid intersections on the underside of your cloth. Each intersection should be spaced by the amount determined in step 3.
-
Connect the grid dots with a yardstick, and draw the wing shape onto your grid.
-
Cut 4 pieces, 2 fronts and 2 backs.
-
Cut 2 pieces of 1/4" fabric or craft foam, 1/2" smaller.
-
Lay out front pieces.
-
Place foam on top.
-
Mold 19 gauge wire around edges.
-
Lay back pieces on top.
-
Sew edges all around.
-
Sew 2nd row inside wire.
-
Add 1/2" wide elastic for shoulder straps.
As an example, if you want your wings to measure 12 inches then 12/8 = 1.5
so the grid lines should be 1.5 " apart.
